The program is integrated to the traditional language therapy with an emphasis on covering the linguistic, cognitive and academic needs that the participant requires to achieve academic success and develop social skills necessary to be active in society. Includes aspects related to increasing vocabulary, auditory processing, increasing attention span, following instructions, understanding questions and having effective communication. This program includes consulting for parents and an intervention plan for the home to generalize skills.
Speech and language therapy integrated to Social skills
Social skills Training: This specialized program is created by Liz Alicea CCC-SLP (founder of BEYOND TALK), it is designed to children and young people with autism and social difficulties. It’s goal is to develop the social skills of the language necessary to solve problems, having appropriate conversational skills and thinking skills. The program will provide the participants with the necessary tools to function in school, the community, make new friends, prepare for the future including college and job search.
Speech-language Therapy with an emphasis on improving academic skills
This program integrates traditional speech therapy with academic aspects. Promotes vocabulary skills, reading comprehension, answering questions, writing, verbal reasoning skills, thinking skills, among others. At the same time, this intervention integrates strategies to improve attention, reading fluency and memory skills.
Specialized Consulting Service
This consulting service is offered directly by Liz Alicea, Speech-Language Pathologist. This service is a very useful tool for parents who are unaware of the causes of their children's communication difficulties and how to help them.
